PROJECT LOCATION:  Yorktown Heights, Westchester county, NY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION :  Enlarge the existing 16 year-old kitchen without building an addition.  Scope of work included a "minor" wall relocation between the laundry room and the kitchen; In fact, the laundry room was relocated upstairs in the hallway, next to the bedrooms (where laundry rooms need to be!). The now vacant prime space, which is located between the garage and the kitchen, is gracefully turned into an eye-pleasing - and practical - mudroom.   Larger windows, consisting of a wide stationary window flanked by 2 casement windows on each side as well as a transom window above, were in order to take advantage of the natural light and the beautiful backyard view (and to keep a better eye on the kids!).
The one-of-a-kind custom cabinetry - with inlay doors and drawer faces a full 1" thickness - was fully designed in-house and built by our own European craftsman. The wood itself came from local trees near Albany, NY!  A sprayed-on glaze was applied on premises once all done.  Our original cabinetry not only features over a dozen top of the line built-ins accessories and organizers, but also the industry best self-closing, concealed bottom mount drawer runners and doors hinges, all manufactured by renowned Blum (Blumotion line).  This kitchen is also equipped with a custom four foot wide kitchen hood, featuring the industry most powerful yet most quiet exhaust fan, thanks to the motor - and a muffler - being remotely installed in the garage.

CLIENT COMMENTS:  "...he [Sylvain] finished our basement (including a full bathroom) in early 2004 (we picked him randomly based on his website)... based on that work, he has since built a loft in our garage, done some small work for my mother-in-law and just recently built our kitchen...needless to say, we like his work (our basement is not just a "finished basement," it's another level of our home)...the pix on his website convey that notion that he does good work...he pays attention to the small details... point out any little thing that is not right and he gets it fixed... the down side of this is it may cause some delays... also, sylvain has an artist's eye and can configure things many ways...I usually have him think big and give me many options, I then whittle things down to what I want (and can afford!)... his workers can do most anything, but of course at a price...it was his idea to move my washer/dryer upstairs (a great idea!)... his initial cost estimates are accurate and budget overruns are due to changes we requested... if you know what you want, let him know and it gets worked into the initial contract..."
