Complete front yard landscaping makeover - Enlarge existing driveway from one to two car wide.  More prominently is the retaining Connecticut dry stone wall featuring the most natural looking, flagstone top friendly stairs...  All without cement...

   Pelham Lower Level

   North Stamford Lower Level

A REFRESHING OPTION IN PLUMBING FIXTURES

Move over Kohler.  This company brings us beautiful fixtures from manufacturers not very well known.  For now.
Whitehaus Collection is your source for original designs and imports of quality decorative plumbing fixtures to be found in the kitchen and bath.
Whitehaus Collection's product offerings are a fresh alternative. Their products are available from coast to coast exclusively through certain kitchen and bath dealer showrooms.

FINE BATH FURNITURE

Say goodbye to your Kraftmaid vanity representative and the like companies.  This manufacturer of fine vanities and matching mirrors is also a fresh alternative to the well known companies.  Please pay a visit to Fairmont Designs.

U.S. HOMEOWNERS EXTEND WARM WELCOME TO FINNISH TRADITION

Al Williamson has the fervor of a convert.
"I use my sauna probably three days a week," said Williamson, a home builder who discovered saunas about 10 years ago.
At first he put saunas in the homes he built, but he didn't see the need for one personally. Then, when he built a new home for himself in 1994, he tucked a sauna in the basement near a game room. Now, he wouldn't be without one -- and neither would any of the houses he builds.  Read the complete story.

SPEAKING OF FINLAND...

Another outstanding product to come out of Finland is their one-of-a-kind, hand carved soapstone fireplace by Tulikivi (click on product line).  Their efficient, wood-burning stove can do double duty; A two-hour fire can provide constant warmth for up to 24 hours, and you can cook with some of the models with a built-in oven.  To locate their nearest showroom, or to see some of their extensive collection, visit Tulikivi (click on product line).

TOILETS TEST CAUSED QUITE A STIR

A study completed late last year by the NAHB Research Center has caused quite a stir in the toilet manufacturing industry.

Two public utilities groups, Seattle Public Utilities and the East Bay Municipal Utility District (Oakland, Calif.), commissioned the study. NAHB researchers tested 49 different models of 1.6-gpf fixtures. Full results of the testing -- in which three Toto units had the lowest indexes -- were posted on the Research Center's Web site in late October. However, within days, they were removed.

BUILDING CODE PROBLEMS, FOR A CHANGE...

What happened to the promise of a single family of coordinated national model codes that the real estate industry has been working to achieve for the past two decades?

There are now two competing national model building codes -- the International Building Code developed by the International Code Council (ICC), and the NFPA 5000 Building Construction and Safety Code developed by the National Fire Protection Association. The question of which is adopted by your local or state government is a critical one, because the impact of this decision on your business, or your home, both now and in the future, will be substantial.

* HAVE A $100 DINNER ON US

Are you aware that your recently completed project became "Our Working Showroom"* and you have become "Our Best Salesperson"?

When your support results into a signed project with us, we will show our gratitude to those who recommend us and to those of you who open their doors to let one of our prospective customers see "the Working Showroom"*.

We'll send you to dinner at one of Westchester's premiere restaurants, Peter Pratt's Inn, on us! (A $100 value.  Good for a la carte dining, Tuesdays to Sundays).

Peter Pratt's Inn was recently awarded a four star rating by Gerry Dawes, a writer for The Journal News.  You can find out more by visiting the web site, Peter Pratt's Inn.com.  You'll be able to review the menu and wine list, and even get directions. We recommend printing the map.

Bon Appetit!

*What WE call a "Working Showroom" is an actual, real, functional project (i.e.: kitchen, bathroom) that has been built around existing conditions, restrictions and obstructions, as opposed to those setup showrooms found in retailer's displays where the only limitation is the designer's imagination!
